The Nikon EDG 7X42 roof prism binoculars offer users a lightweight, portable, and durable construction that delivers superior image. Ideal for trekking and nature watching, the EDG model features several optical properties, including ED glass lenses, and multi-coated elements to ensure image reproduction is bright with natural colour. The ergonomic design that includes rubber armouring and turn-and-slide eyecups allows for comfortable handling and strain-free use. With a 3m close focusing distance and 7X magnification, using the Nikon EDG binoculars is easy.
Nikon EDG Optics
Nikon have ensured image reproduction is sharp, clear, and full of vivid colour by incorporating several optical properties, including ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass lenses to correct chromatic aberrations and provide outstanding contrast and resolution. As well as a field flattener lens system to minimise field curvature and phase-correction coated roof prisms for high-resolution images across the entire field of view.
A multi-layered coating, including dielectric high-reflective multilayer roof prism coating has been applied to ensure high light transmission throughout the visible spectrum for remarkably bright images with natural colours, even in low light.
Superior Ergonomics
To ensure better handling, the EDG 7X42 binoculars have a short bridge design and are lightweight, weighing only 785g, for a more balanced, comfortable hold. As well as rubber armouring on the body for shock resistance and for a firmer, more secure grip.
Featuring a high-eyepoint design and turn-and-slide eyecups, made out of a soft rubber material, with a multi-click system to make it easy for users to adjust the eyepoint for a clear field of view, even for glasses wearers. Horn-shaped detachable eyecups block peripheral light for a clearer field of view.
The large focus knob prevents unintentional diopter changes for efficient and convenient operation.
The EDG model features eco-glass optics that are free of lead and arsenic.
Built for The Outdoors
The Nikon EDG 7X42 binoculars are constructed out of a magnesium-alloy body, offering users a durable design that can withstand extreme outdoor conditions. The EDG binoculars are waterproof for up to 5m for 10 minutes, as well as being fog-free for undisturbed use. O-ring seals and nitrogen gas are incorporated in the body to ensure it is safe during intense outdoor use.
